Diary of a First Year Instructional Coach
Welcome!
My name is Lauren Morris!
I am a Technology Instructional Specialist and Digital Learning Partner (DLP) at B.B. Comer High School from Talladega County, Alabama. This is my first year as an Instructional Coach! Previously, I taught middle school Social Studies for 6 years. My love of history, technology and PBLs drove my instruction on a daily basis. This passion and my close relationship with my DLP drove me to seek out my own DLP position. My first year as a DLP has provided me so many learning experiences, professional development, and ways to grow as a person. In this blog, I hope to share my tips and tricks, as well as, highs and lows of navigating my new career. I also want to highlight effective strategies for my new role and ones that weren't so effective for me.

"The purpose of coaching is to create teacher independence in being reflective, searching out resources to help drive good instruction, and data collection and analysis to determine student progress. "
